Brisbane Fashion: "I Have A Pretty Face"

The artwork on this T-Shirt is designed by Brisbane artist Natalie of defnatalie.com. On her blog, she says:

Basically, my illustration refers to (and reclaims) a "compliment" a lot of fat women have received... "oh but you have such a pretty face". Well, damn straight I do - but don't you go negating my body! Heidi is spreading the body love and intends on creating more tshirts to sell, including more of my own illustrations!

The T-Shirts are US $25 each, and go up to 5XL. Which is good - how many times do you hear people say "Oh, we even have XL", as though that is big enough for people who are fat like me.

You can buy the T-Shirts here - scroll down to where it says "Heidi Campaign" (you'll need either a credit card, Visa or Mastercard Debit Card, or a PayPal account).

Brisbane Photos: Ringlight reflection (Astrid)

Flickr user David De Groot comes up with another nice photo. This one uses a ringlight (click here for a photo of the gear) to create the effect in the pupil.

Brisbane Tunnels - Explore Inner Northern Busway on Sunday May 4

The new section of the Inner Northern Busway is going to open in May, and on Sunday May 4 there's an open day, from 10am to 2pm, where people can walk in the new tunnel and see it before buses start using it.

According to the Translink website, you can see an old culvert, and also the remains of a WWII command centre. The open day will also have entertainers and rides for the kids (with a gold coin donation).

You can get into the tunnel at the new King George Square station or at Roma Street Station - click here to see a Google Map showing exactly where they both are. As usual, car parking is pretty hard to find in town, so public transport is a good idea - click here to see timetables at the Translink website.

The new busway links up the Queen Street Mall bus station with Roma St train station, so that the bus and train networks are properly linked up at last.

The new part of the busway is a tunnel that runs under the city from Queen St Mall busway station, under King George Square (which also has a new station), and to Roma St station, where you can connect with a train. For a map of the new section, click here (it's a pdf file).
