Brisbane Sculpture: Wharf Street Dingo

Just snapped a pic of this great-looking sculpture out the bus window. It's on the corner of Wharf and Ann Streets in the city. I think it looks like a dingo.

Yeh I saw this on Friday night, it's very different, but interesting as well. I'm guessing it is like the people on the bus sculptures on Queen Street.

Looks like the dingo is on guard! Brisbane has lots of interesting sculptures - many inherited from World Expo 88 - an exciting time.

@goldentao, do you mean this sculpture? It does look a bit similar, I'll have to get off the bus and take a look at who did the dingo one.

@ron passfield, I've only been in Brisbane since very late 2002, but I've heard a lot of people say that - it seems that the 88 Expo really made Brisbane open its eyes up to much broader horizons than it ever had before.

And yep, there are heaps of good sculptures here. Another reason is that large Government builidng projects have to spend 2% of their budget on public art. I think there is a similar scheme for private building projects as well but I'm not sure about that.
